Looks like Saw Paing got an upgrade in the kengan fighters hierarchy with all that "he's unstoppable" hype. Will be interesting to see how he will go now with the likes of Rihito, Dudley or Cosmo in the next rounds of that tournament

Saw Paing was always a powerhouse. Dude's almost indestructible and can hit people with anything. Reiji was a bad matchup for him (Setsuna would have been another pretty terrible matchup, I think). I'd rate Cosmo about the same or higher in general, but it's probably a dangerous matchup for Cosmo. Dudley's a tough ass guy, and his strength combined with grappling sounds pretty dangerous, but I'd favour Saw Paing here. Rihito is a wildcard. If his training with the Beard ever coalesces into something serious, he could be nuts, but he seems pretty hit and miss.

Looking forward the most to Cosmo vs Saw Paing.
Would be funny if Silva and Dudley won their matches despite the "Koga vs Ryuki" build up.

Gotta admit Ryuki vs Dudley is an intriguing one. Dudley didn't make it far, last time, but we was no slouch, and him being so present in the story and being trained by Cosmo's coach makes me think he might have become pretty nuts. Ryuki really struggled against Akoya, who's another huge dude with heavy strikes, so this might be a pretty hard fight unless Ryuki's got something hidden.

1st chapter of the Cosmo vs Saw Paing fight, seems promising so far. But i noticed something odd in that scanlation, Gaolang that is in Saw Paing corner is called ... "Kaolan" ? As far as i remember, from his appearance in Kengan Asura to his appearance in the Purgatory tournament, he has always been called "Gaolang" , i googled around and alsonoticed some wiki also call him "Kaolan", but in the same time note that in the original manga it is wrote in katakana characters : ガオランThat if i check en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katakana correspond to "Gaolan" (and i guess they added a g in the end to make it sounds closer to a name from Thailand, but regardless it's not pronounced as "Kaolan". So i wonder why that change, and why some wiki also call him "Kaolan" ? |

Same reason as Lolong started being Rolon... and the very first scanlation I read from one piece over 20 years ago called Luffi... Rufi.

From what i remember reading around the sound "Rrrrr" is more or less pronounced like "Lllll" in japanese , so Lolon/Rolon or Luffi/Ruffi wasn't really a mistake unless you could read the mind of the actual author and how he wanted it to be written in english. But for Gaolan/Kaolan, that's a different case as the character ガIs pronounced Ga, not Ka that is the same character without the 2 little lines in the upper right corner : カSo why is it Kaolan i have no idea. Now for the "g" or no "g" in the end of the names i don't know what exactly decide if there must be a g , the page en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katakana show the word "Majhong" being wrote マジャンthat is pronounced something like "majyan" if i look at the katakana table , hinting that the japanese pronounciation simply ignore the "g" in the end. So i guess that's making it harder for a translater to know if you must add or not a g in the end of those names like Gaolang or Lolong. |
