STAR is doing some really nice things, yeah. With a few exceptions, I don't think the fights are all that great, but everything around them is solid enough to make up for that, and the fighters mostly being one trick ponies kinda fits well with the setting of this not so big underground fight org.
The story seems pretty good so far, most characters are fun and have interesting motivations. I'm not sure it's going to hold up in the long run, but if the manga doesn't try to last too long, it could tie things up nicely.

A good fight in Hajime no Ippo, 2 good fights in a row in Kengan, i hope the coming fight in STAR will be as good, seems like it was a good couple of months for manga matches

And that's the end, what a good fight it has been.

Eh, I dunno. I'm glad the fights never dragged, it had some moments and was intense, but, like most of this tournament's fights, I felt it was kind of thrown out there, and having Kanoh's style be reduced to how he can land the dragon shot sucks. The Kanoh flashback was nice to have, though, no complains there.
