Itagaki goes in and out of the Shamo program. Remember the Kaioh Tournament Arc with the guy that got squished by Olivar? Who toughened his body by letting boulders and wood smash into him via Waterfall? How is Sumo gonna top that? And Olivar gout ribbed by Sukune. Who is Superhuman or as close as it gets without Hanma Blood. How is a normal Discipline of Martial Arts all of a sudden supposed to reach those levels with, presumably, "normal" human beings?
I honestly enjoyed Muashi more because that at least did not pretend to "normal" or "humanly feasible". Same with pickle. That was ridiculous by its setup. This is asking for too much suspension of disbelief again.
--
Totally different question to finish this: What discipline has Itagaki so far neglected that might be next? Apart from outright Chi Combat, again, a la Shamo in the Middle there.

I wonder if Shibukawa couldn't spontaneously learn Xiao Lee as he gets smacked by Kyogei. He's about the right size and age to be a Xiao Lee user, isn't he?

Nice chapter and it makes a lot of sense that the giant sumo guy is surprised by Shibukawa rolling on the ground as they're not used to this kind of technique at all considering someone on the ground in the sumo rules is an automatic defeat.
I'm wondering what our Aki madman has in mind with going into a classic sumo grapple at the end of the chapter, of course there's probably going to be some "magic" aki thingy but i wonder how Itagaki will make it believable in that specific situation Shibukawa let himself get into.

He won't be able to lift him, I guess he's going for that, but that would be too predictible, so in truth I dunno.

The fight promises. It is good that we have fights again where is unknown who will be the winner and be able to see a variety of techniques from both sides.

I like this fight so far. I hope sumo wins on this one, but the sumo guys considers himself defeated anyway (by sumo rules at least, like having the hands on the ground or something else).

Even though it will have questionable animation, Oliva vs. Shobun Ron in the Chinese Tournament will be incredible to see animated.

My feel is that Itakagi is pushing it to see how far his Editor and readers Aiki can take.
Was a fun chapter though.

So the takeway from this chapter is that Shibukawa got thrown away like an old condom ?
Gotta love his face in the second to last page.
