Well, after UFC 207 I think retirement is closer than ever. Also, how come she hasn't fired Tarverdyan?
What do you think?

Taverdian looks like some kind of cult leader at this point. I'm a Nunes fan, but this wasn't her best fight by a mile. All Rhonda did was plod forward awkwardly. She looked like she didn't even train. It breaks my heart that such an amazingly talented woman fell into a hack like Taverdian's hands. She could have been great, but all she had was her judo training. Taverdian was just her excuser for going pro. She could have elevated her division so much. Tragedy is what this is.
By the way, happy nex year everyone !

I think the problem's more fundamental. It's like she's not aware of her own strengths and weaknesses and Taverdyan's done nothing to correct that. Having bad form is one thing, but smart training helps you work around what you can't simply fix. Even with terrible punching technique, training decent footwork, ring cutting and head movement could have helped her not eat ten punches before being in clinching range.
Also, the article is mostly correct, but the eye thing is only half right in my mind. I trained savate for about two years, and what I was told often at the start was that if I always looked where I was aiming, it was like telling the opponent where I was going to strike ahead of time. Obviously, it doesn't mean you can just look into the distance like Rousey does in the videos, but eye feints are real, and there are other ways to know where to punch other than looking straight at the target.
