Oh wow, that is a good Tochinoshin, now. The other guy looked powerless in the mutual grip.
Damn what a good match between Ichinojou and Takarafuji, it went down to better split second decision making but it was full of strategy.
Daiieishou vs Kiribayama is also pretty good.
And another one ! Takayasu vs Chiyonokuni, where the latter is dancing around the former, while the former focuses his entire power on absolutely destroying him.
Terunofuji clearly does not like other wrestlers on his dohyo.

Asanoyama has been pulled out and suspended for violating prevention norms. He will surely miss the July basho, which will demote him of his Ozeki rank.

What do you expect from this next Basho?

Hakuho won't compete since a stablemate tested positive for COVID, and the entire stable was pulled out.

Which means that Terunofuji will be the only Yokozuna on this tournamet, something that hasn't happened since the days of Asashoryu.

I just hope to see Teru doing a Yokozuna-worthy basho and Hoshoryu getting once again double digits.

Hoshoryu looked very strong on day 1.
