Macross Delta

Anyone watching the current installment of the Macross franchise, Delta? It feels a lot like Macross 7 but feels different. I am sure for people not familiar to Macross, it is a big WTF but for long time fans who are familiar with the mythos it is a different breath of air compared to previous installments. The enemy and their motives are pretty much revealed right away and their motives seem to be understandable. Hayate as a main character feels a little generic to the mech genre but he is very likable.

I like it more than Frontier. The dogfights are great and the music is catchy.

I do think Mirage and Freyja are better love interests than Sheryl and Ranka, but as a main character Basara from 7 is my favorite.
