New chapter is out. Seems to be a flashback about the war.
So, there are 9 special titans. Gotta admit I don't quite see the idea here. You have the armored and colossal titans which have pretty self explanatory powers, ok, then you have the beast titan, whose power is having monkey hair I guess ? Then, you have Ymir, whose power is to be super tiny, great. Eren's one of them too apparently, but I honestly don't see what the "Attack titan"'s power is, except from maybe the giving order thingie (didn't Annie do that as well, though ?), and finally, we have Annie who's the "female titan". So her superpower is being female ? What ? I guess Ymir's titan form didn't have breasts, so what, tits is her power ? I mean, what made her dangerous was really just her own fighting skills (and the hardening thing, but Eren can do that too).
I don't know, maybe not all special titans have special abilities.

Definitely still read it, although I'd be hard pressed to give an opinion (in part because I'm slightly confused as to what exactly is happening anymore). I'll read the chapter later.

There was a thread on the manga, so no need to make another...
As for the developments, I might care if the pacing over the last 4-5 years wasn't complete shit and Isayama didn't spend ages developing new characters who will be thrown away soon.

Yeah, somewhy I was looking for the english title so I somehow overlooked it. You not caring isn't new; but I kinda like what's going on right now. Looks like Eren and co wasn't just sitting on their ass the whole time, and we might just see some action again. Also, like how calm and composed Eren is.

Alright, I merged the threads.
So, yeah, read the chapter and I feel a bit lost. I honestly forgot there had been a big timeskip, and now I'm more confused than anything. I'm piecing things together as much as I can, so I see what's going on mostly, but yeah, it's kind of a mess.
And that's a shame because I like what's happening. The big Claymore style revelation about an outside bigger normal world (Claymore's outside world was anything but normal, though) was a bit jarring, but, it was interesting, but since that time, I have to agree with Boggyb that the pacing is all over the place. There are loads of characters that are not well enough established to be endearing and the constant "who's that again ? what's happening ? What are they talking about ?" feeling of confusion really makes it hard for me to enjoy it. On the one hand, it feels like nothing is happening because the manga has been doing little more than establishing Marley and shit and now that Eren is here for some reason, it looks like the events are going to resume, but at the same time, it feels rushed because the Author wanted to info dump as much stuff as possible about his universe and all those new characters but without actually taking the time to build the whole thing, because it could have ended up being alienating to the readers who just wanted to see the main characters.
So this has been a few months of peeking into tangentially related storyline full of characters that didn't have the time to be introduced properly and going from a simple setting of humans vs titans with maybe the royal household being secretly in league with the titans to a convoluted plot involving Paradis Island Eldians (the royal family previously horrible oppressive world power), Eren and Co. and the new Paradis Island rulers, Marley (current horrible oppressive world power), Marley loyalist Eldians, all of which have their own specific agendas. Add to that some other possibly oppressive world power whose names I totally forgot and now god knows how many other countries. I mean, damn, I already had trouble with the wall and gates names, and now you want me to keep up with like 4 different factions and their various tactics, alliances and betrayals ? And of course, you have to name them really unevocative, unmemorable names like Marley and Eldians (I am now semi-comfortable in telling which is which, which is an improvement to before). Yeah, things escalated quickly.

To be honest it's been a very long time i had been disapointed with the direction of the story, i think it was back in chapter 91 when the story went through a time skip. The book, the story and characters were never the same anymore to me. So that ending didn't really got to me, it slightly surprised me that i didn't cared despite i liked this book so much (at least until the timeskip). But i guess for someone that was still hooked on it, it's a servicable end as it leaves some doors open for some sequel.

I was like 4 chapters behind and caught up before being spoilt anywhere online. It was more or less what I was expecting once Eren went rogue, but I didn't guess all the detours and surprised me it ended in such a hopeful tone (for what the series is.) I was bracing myself for another Devilman Crybaby ending.

Dropped this manga when the Night Shyamalan island was revealed. Seeing the ending I don't regret it.

WEll, same kind of ending as Full Metal Alchemist, not bad but not good either. Could have been a lot worse really, the ride was fun though.

A little disappointed in the ending, but I don't think it was that bad. What was horrible was the explanation about Ymir's behavior.
