Just "finished" (like without the unlockable levels) Celeste. Really awesome platformer, it defeinitely lives up to the hype. I've also been getting back in Age of Empires 2 lately. Not the definitive edition cause I'm not sure my computer can handle it, but the HD version. I had forgotten how addictive this game is, I've sunk not so far from 600 hours on it, a healthy part of which was during lockdown. The multiplayer is a lot of fun, except when you encounter douchebags. Still pretty much suck at it, though. I often see XCOM and Darkest Dungeon mentioned in the same sentence as RNGesus fodder. It would be interesting to try if I wasn't buried by backlog (have like 12-15 games to finish/start/rebought to play.) I got coaxed to buy Hollow Knight (not because it's a bad game, but because it's hard as d*cks and didn't have that kind of time) and finally got the Bluray version of Streets of Rage 4. Both are taking most of my playing time but I was away for 2 weeks and haven't touched them since beginning of July. Both excellent in different ways. Haven't played XCOM, but I have played the Shadowrun Returns trilogy, the second and third two instances of which are awesome turn based T-RPGs. Pretty good stories and characters, and enjoyable system, probably more accessible than XCOM from what I heard about the latter. And yeah, Hollow Knight is amazing. I definitely agree that the Godmaster DLC goes way overboard with the challenges. The base game is already pretty difficult, but this is some crazyness right there.

Alright boys, Diablo 2 Resurrected is out. What can be said about it? It's fucking Diablo 2, but with modern day graphics. It's iconic. It's awesome. It defined an entire generation of video games, and then some.
Is anyone else purchasing it, or planning on playing? I would love to play more often, but, you know, I have a full-time job, yada yada yada - the excuses of an old salaryman who is a filthy casual gamer. I have a level 10 Javazon with absolute trash gear, and I'm gonna take my sweet time enjoying every minute of it. If anyone wants to join me on Battle.net, that could be fun.

I'm guessing Blizzard didn't pull another Warcraft III Reforged this time

Oh ? I never did play Diablo 2 (or any Diablo), this could be an occasion, I suppose. Oof, 40 bucks, is perhaps a little much rn, though, but if it goes down (and when I upgrade my cpu), I should definitely think about it.

So far, Diablo 2 Resurrected has been solid. I've had a positive experience with it, and the soundtrack is one of the all-time greats.
Javazon will be my first character, next will be a Paladin or Sorceress. Trapper Assassin also looks cool.
But yes, D2R does cost 40 bucks, which is a bit steep. System requirements are:
Minimum Requirements:
Operating System: Windows 10 Processor: Intel Core i3-3250/AMD FX-4350 Video: Nvidia GTX 660/AMD Radeon HD 7850 Memory: 8GB RAM Storage: 30GB Internet: Broadband Internet connection Resolution: 1280 x 720
Recommended Specifications:
Operating System: Windows 10 Processor: Intel Core i5-9600k/AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Video: Nvidia GTX 1060/AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT Memory: 16GB RAM Storage: 30GB Internet: Broadband Internet connection Resolution: 1920 x 1080

I haven't experienced this yet, but, folks are saying sometimes the Battle.net servers are going down (realm down) or their online characters become inaccessible for a while. Nothing too surprising there given Blizzard's history of launching games.
So far I've enjoyed this, we'll see if duping becomes rampant and online cheating turns everything to shit - time will tell.

I played OG Diablo 2 to death back in my uni days. Never got into the meta and mostly trudged my way around the game. I mained ice sorceress as she was less gear oriented than other classes and playing offline meant shitty items. My laptop might run this but I don't have a comfortable set up to play click intensive games like this at the moment (RPGs and turned based is what I use it mostly for... apart from work, of course.)
Right now my only dedicated gaming is on my PS4 with Enter the Gungeon. Been playing it almost religiously most evenings for the last 6 months and it never gets old. And to think I found it too challenging to play beyond a few basic runs...

Yeah, if you were thinking about Diablo 2 Resurrected, I would hold off for now. They have having significant server issues and there's a million articles and threads about it on social media/reddit, etc.
Since I'm an old who only gets to play the game occasionally, this doesn't really impact me much, but as far as value for money goes, it's not worth it to pay a premium price for a game that has major server issues. They're working on it, but yeah, save your money and buy some cool shit on Steam for 70-80% off.

Yeaaaaaahh, stay far away from Diablo 2 Resurrected. Sorry I even mentioned it. It's effectively a single player only offline game for now. Multiplayer is boned and there's 300-400+ person queues just to join a server. Embarrassing. Not that it's surprising the Blizzard/Activision would fuck this up, but man, they really dropped the ball.
