"Berserk isn't getting soft," they said. "Miura can totally still draw dark and brooding and gory material," they said.

That was an amazing chapter. Farnese's dream is so weird. I love the inquisitor scrubbing stone and the dragonslayer hanging on the clotheline.

It was another fun chapter with those dreams, good for the team to get some happy time after all the horrors they went through in the manga.
I'm not sure why there's a hiatus announced, there have been so much time between chapters in the last couple of year that it seems there has always been a hiatus between them anyways.
I just hope the author will manage to complete the story one day, i just want to see Guts exposing Griffith for all the evil that clown has done while manipulating the other people in thinking he's the good guy, and in the end page punching him so hard in the face.

Miura is softening the audience to deliver a brutal blow. just you wait. I hope. Also, if they are going into Casca's dream, and the god hand exist outside of time and can see the past and the future... when Femto was Raping Casaca, he knew these girls where experiencing the rapem too in Casaca's dreams in the future?

I don't know if the godhand can see into people's dreams (although that is a distinct possibility and Griffith could start worrying that Casca, with her memories back could come back to fuck up his deal), but obviously, we're in for something seriously dark if they're gonna see what happened during the eclipse. I won't complain, though, if Miura holds back a little on the rape details, because Berserk is already full it enough as it is.

I'm not sure why there's a hiatus announced, there have been so much time between chapters in the last couple of year that it seems there has always been a hiatus between them anyways. The last hiatus (~6 months) was partially (ostensibly) because Miura was working on the anime. Among other reasons but in particular given the quality of the anime, I don't believe that for a second. I think he used that as an excuse to spend 6 months playing terrible video games and drinking/drugging himself into a coma. This hiatus is also ostensibly because Miura is going to work on the anime. I already heard that Miura is taking time off to play a crappy videogame joke, i thought it was a funny one Interesting interview, though it's from 16 years ago, so who know what Miura has planned for the ending. I know i'm in the minority there but i still hope for a happy one , would be great as a mirror/opposite to the grimdarkevil beginning of the story. And at least a lot of punching Griffith in the face, i already applauded at chapter 337 and i hope Rickert will inspire more people to do that in the ending. Now for the immediate (well after hiatus) story development, what's interesting is that dream are often distorted/changed, dreamed memories are not always copy of reality as it happened. I'm curious to see if Miura will go there and what the dream (nightmare more) version of the Eclipse will be.

For what it was and the budget it had, Berserk 2016 wasn't *that* bad, in my opinion. It wasn't that great either, and it hurts because it is friggin' Berserk and I want tons of money and sakuga poured into it, but knowing it is a young adult/teen manga in a more niche magazine I need to curve my expectations. If nothing else, it gave us a few more great Susumu Hirasawa's tracks. The source material is still as strong as ever, and terrible CGI moments aside, it gripped my newbie wife with the plot, Gutt's sheer badassery and the loving Berserk universe tendency of shit hitting an ever bigger fan.
The manga is looking great and going places (finally!) And no matter how bad the pauses are, it's still better than Hunter x Hunter...

This isn't anime or manga related, but a brand new Berserk video game just came out. Here's a review by Jim Sterling, who is apparently a big fan of the manga: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD69bDveE0M

It ends on the boat How poetic is that? Playing as Zodd looks pretty fun, at least.
