Well, does the MC really have to be enigmatic, though ? That was the case for Ohma, but it doesn't have to be the same for the sequel. And Rihito was still one of the more human characters of the first series in terms of power level, so I think he'd have a pretty good margin of progress, whereas Gaouh could very well be top tier already.

So it is time for a "primal" Niko style? I'm on board with that.

I like the new dynamic of the duo, it keeps me intrigued as how they will evolve.

I wonder if Gensai will accept to fight or send Rihito instead.

Probably Gensai will have a fight off the torunament (with another organziation like Worm) while Rihito goes to the tournament oficially.

I think it'd be best if our attention were to be consolidated on one thing in this series. The coup and all that in the first series somewhat evidences that divided plot strands in Kengan are distracting if not irritating.

I disagree there, i liked in the original serie that the author was following a few characters own stories without them being all converging into the same plot, it made those characters more interesting than being just background to be fed to the main guys.
So far i enjoy this new serie, still annoyed by the Ohma clone that so far could easily be removed from the story without any loss of interest for the reader, i guess it is probably because unlike the other character he's not developped, the author just parachuted him there for some reason.

We are developing Koga for now then we'll get to notOhma, but that said, I'm liking both, even if I enjoy the developments of Koga more and more and hope he remains interesting, Ryuki makes me curious as well and want to see where theya re going with him.

Perhaps Ryuki is a character whose only function is to serve as a link to the plot of the "Real Niko" "Worm" and the history of the Niko Style.

So... doing the Kenichi route with Koga? Welp can be fun, if the ending is better than Kenichi's.

Koga's training is a real good read, at least for someone that has done years of martial arts.
Getting rid of all the bad habits and inconscious tensions and restraints is a real pain in the ass.
