The rape thing is really stupid, so many mangas seems to have characters that only "character" is about rape because the author is lazy at characterisation. I understand that for those fight-only manga like Tenkaichi the story gets a far away backseat, but still considering that manga is using historical characters (even if of course very "manga-ified" ) , there's certainly more than "i want to rape" to use for a characterisation definition.
Not so sure the real Addams was that a chill guy, there are some historians that think because he was affiliated to England (that at the time was seriously competing with Spain for the commercial relations with Japan), he was intrumental during his trading councelling time with Ieyasu Tokugawa in getting that shogun to progressively turn away Spain and ultimately start the massacres of japanese christians (as they had been siding with Spain).

It was not a chill time. Plus, Portuguese priests in Japan tried to have them crucified right after what was left of the crew arrived there, barely alive. There's a lot of fucked up shit involved at all levels, but I at least wouldn't blame him for holding a grudge there.

RAW of chapter 15 rawkuma.com/tenkaichi-nihon-saikyou-mononofu-ketteisen-chapter-15/The art is really good, the fight follow the same "overwhelming guy A , then it's turn of guy B to be overwhelming, then guy A will be overwhelming again then " trope that happened in the other fights, but it's hard to deviate from that unless you really want one of the opponents to be noticably weaker, and this tourney is about "history-inspired" but roughly equals fighting maniacs duking it out... But so far it's still good, especially as it was the case for the other so far, this fight has a very different atmosphere to it with both guys "dancing" each their turns, sea dragon and sea devil.

the rape dialogue is still moronic. I think we can leave it at that.

Yeah, not really sure what Adams can do here. Thicc kunoichi had her ninja roid superhuman speed and strength, but in the end, Adams' just dude with a knife, fighting another dude with better fencing and a longer knife. Just don't bring a knife to a swordfight for the fate of Japan.

Just don't bring a knife to a swordfight for the fate of Japan. Isn't exactly that the fun of the series? To see how such different opponents interact with each other? I'm sure Adam will recover from this with another flashback of his training with his mom and get the upperhand back in the end of the next chapter.

Oh, it is, and hopefully, he does have something, but I'm not giving the guy much of a chance. Sure, he's got the stage advantage, but he has a knife versus a sword, the other guy has been hyped since the start of the series as this dangerous fucker prodigy just waiting for a chance to go nuts, and... y'know, Adams ain't Japanese, and that's a nerf in itself in a tournament manga.
No doubt Adams has at least another ace up his sleeve, but I think he's getting bisected sooner or later.

The most important question is which one of the fighters will make the craziest creeoy face before the end of the battle ?

Chapter 16 in raw rawkuma.com/tenkaichi-nihon-saikyou-mononofu-ketteisen-chapter-16/And wow, i don't know if it is yet another case of "not japanese fighter = nerf", but the author made Adams into a complete jobber in that chapter. While a comeback may be possible considering how unpredictable fights were so far, it would be a bit ridiculous considering the state Adams is left in after that chapter, assuming he is even alive. But the good stuff with the raws is that i can't understand the stupid dialogues, this makes it less face-palming

Don't forget not being Japanese is the n°1 cause of death in fight manga. There ain't no cure for that.
But yeah, totally not surprised, even though Adams got murderized even faster and worse than I thought.

Yeah, my main problem is that so far all the fights were really close and to point how the fight were that hard and close for the winner, they always ended in having some level of horrible injuries (that of course will all be magically/convenientely healed for the next fights i guess) That's what they were good too (willingly ignoring the stupid rape dialogues), because you felt those battles could have gone either way due to how strong both competitors were. In the case of Adams vs Yagyu it was different but unfortunately not in a good way as it was simply a "squash match" like they say in wrestling (not helped by the usual "japanese = the bestest" nationalism crap that is often noticed in manga), as not only the whole actual fight was Yagyu simply trashing around Adams as if the guy was nothing, but to really put this as a jobbing fight Yagyu only ended with a very minor flesh wound and a little bruise in the fight introduction. Something that at least wouldn't have been that unbelievable (as real life William wasn't really a fighter but was said to be a great engineer and trading expert while Munenori was said to be a talented swordman, but i guess Adams was part of Tenkaichi because of being the MC in the game Nioh ) if the author didn't made his "naked madman on a beach murdered dozen of swordmen bare handed without sustaining any cut" thing to hype Adams.

I'm on the fence on this fight. I don't have a problem on principle with some matches being stomps. Close matches are good, but it's nice to have variety. Obviously, it comes at the cost of the character that gets trashed. In this case, while it's "funny" to see the usual bias, I'm also not surprised considering what the writers said about how they decided fights, by weighing the advantages of the various characters. Once they had designed Adams as using a freakin' knife, being put up against Yagyu being set up as this total monster, the odds were stacked against Adams. Now why they chose to have this guy use the tiniest weapon of the entire roster when he really doesn't have any specific advantage aside from being more used to boats, I have no idea. I also wonder how they set up the matches, if they did it randomly or if they decided who fought who.
In the end, it's kind of a letdown, but basically everyone involved in the tournament is a giant badass in one way or another, so even if Adams got trashed, he's only one of the weakest of the most ridiculously OP warriors in Japan.
